Yet Another Use For Old Books

One of our staff, was married over the weekend, and what a beautiful bride she was!

With very short notice and time, we handled all the decorations in the reception hall to create a vintage inspired wedding for her.  I tried to give the tables a personal feel by creating a series of books that told their story.  Many of the wedding guests were kind enough to share their love of this idea with me, I was very pleased with the result.

Old hardback books were painted white, then I pasted photos with a personal book title to the covers. The book spines reflected the title and wedding date.

There were 19 tables, all the books were different and tucked under a glass cloche which created a sweet and personal accent for the tablescapes.
Then birds, candle and votive holders, ferns and flowers, were added to create elegant yet simple vignettes.

I will share more photos as I get them.  Meanwhile...

Congratulations you two!  We love you both and wish you all the best!

  4. What a wonderful idea!!! You did all that on short notice?? I don't think I'd come up with something as beautiful as that if I had a year to plan it. I might just borrow this idea for my daughter's wedding (some day).
