We spent a week in Atlanta attending the Atlanta Gift Market which proved to be quite an adventure. You see, we flew out of Dallas with snow on the ground and then landed in a snow covered Atlanta. My southern readers will appreciate the rarity of such an event.
And, we're not talking a little bit of snow, Atlanta had so much snow that over 1000 flights were cancelled. Upon our arrival I realized how fortunate we were to have arrived at all!
The snow storm kept us from straying further than the gift market and our hotel, but it certainly did not hinder the hunting trip. I scored some wonderful Spring finds for the Shoppe, and some fabulous vintage items from road trips over the past month....all of it is laying in wait for the Spring makeover of the Shoppe that is just around the corner!
So much is slated to arrive over the next couple weeks that it's almost dizzying, you're going to love it! But first, it's on to the Dallas Market later this week and then New York next week.
After that it will be time for our annual BIG February sale during the upcoming Canton show and then......we get to begin the Shoppe transformation for Spring! All of the crew is excited and ready to get started! And, of course for me, this is one of the highlights of being a shoppe owner!
My time online will be extremely limited over the crazy weeks ahead so please bear with my scattered posts. But, I will pop in and update you as cool things arrive.
Stay tuned and get ready!
Sorry you had such a snowy trip to the south. It's been a rough week here. I'm following you now. I like your inspiration. Keep blogging!

ReplyDeleteThe snow in the South has been unreal this Winter! Here in Alabama we had snow on Christmas day ... a first for me in my 40 yrs of life! Then last week the kids were out of school all week because of snow and ice.
Stay safe in all your travels

Thanks so much for following my blog. I'm now following yours. It's a pleasure to "meet" you. I have a friend in Georgia who couldn't fly out last week due to the unusual icy conditions in her area. She's never lived through anything similar before! Interesting winter this has been, hasn't it.

Our line is carried in the Atlanta Mart - 13S120 Building 3 - I was concerned (ok, FREAKED!) that the show would be a wash, but it turned out pretty good - thanks to you intrepid, fascinating, shop owners! I adore you all (ya'all)! It is great to see life through a shop owners eyes.....

Urgh - the snow is so pretty that I never want it to go. But the disruption it causes is horrendous and people don't like having to wait for delayed parcels.
ReplyDeleteGet yourself a good pair of shoes for the Canton show. LAst time we were there, we worked out we were walking about 15 miles a day round stands. I was pregnant too at the time !
Hi Sarah,
ReplyDeleteNo worries, we aren't walking and buying at the Canton show, I own a 5000 square foot store there so we spend our time selling during the show....it's still hard on the feet though! :))
Hey Laurie Anna... counting down.... the days... Thanks for sharing DaphNE with me.. She gave us the coolest vintage western chic handbag for the silent auction... did a shout out on my blog...
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the ATL trip was an adventure - I'm in the South and it really stopped everything for days!
