Vintage Home, More than just a Name

If you guessed that we purchased another vintage home with endless projects, you are correct!


When I registered my business name 7 years ago, it wasn't randomly chosen.  Vintage wasn't the cool buzz word it has become

in recent years, I chose it because it had personal meaning for me.

You see, the words "Vintage Home"

are not just part of my business name,

it is a large part of my life.

Vintage homes are all that hubster and I have ever lived in.

However, when we began looking for a home last summer, possibly our last, we briefly toyed with the notion of buying a new home.

 
It was a notion that was fueled by the Utopian idea 
of living in a home that didn't need work. 

What a lovely idea it was.

But it was not to be.

There was something standing in our way.


Something I couldn't get around...

my addiction. 

Perhaps it's time to come clean.....

They say the hardest part is admitting you have a problem.

I am hopelessly addicted to the charm of old houses. 

It's not anything new, 

this love affair extends back to my childhood. 

No matter how hard I try,

I can't get over it.

Creaking floors, 
chippy paint,
squeaky doors...

these things speak to my soul.

Vintage homes show their age,
much the same as our laugh lines show ours.


My spirit is at peace here.

No doubt, our life would be much more restful if I could find a good 12 step program, but it would also be much less adventurous.


So here we are,

at the jumping off point.

Ready to dive in head first
into a world of new projects.

With one big change this time.

This is the first time,

we will be able to share the entire journey with you. 

Every DIY project,

every accomplishment,

every mistake lesson,

we get to share them all with you,
right here.
