The weatherman may not have promised a repeat performance of last February's weather, but it sure came close this morning.
Yes, it's not the best weather for a show, but with views like this....who cares?
Through the kitchen window of 5th Place this morning, I was sweetly greeted by a host of female cardinals sitting in the snow covered wisteria vines.
At times, there were more than a dozen of them perched there.
They were waiting their turn.
For the feeder...
You see who is in the feeder......the male. : ))
The feeder was a popular spot this morning.
But, for some odd reason, the bird bath was ignored. :))
Isn't it beautiful?...
With the way he romped and played in the snow, one would never guess that cutie pie, Zeek, is 12.
Isn't he beautiful?...
The garden lights that line the walk to 5th Place Cottage look like snow cones to me.
Isn't it something how even the simplest of things become a work of art when covered in snow?
Thank you God for blessing us with such beauty.
P.S. The Shoppe is warm and open for business today, but with the road conditions and temps, Saturday or Sunday would probably be better days to make the trip and enjoy the sale.
Stay safe and warm my friends!
Hello LaurieAnna, I finally made it to TX last Monday. I have at home with my daughter in her home, since the icy storm. I will have to make another trip soon. I will wait for the weather to warm up. Sorry, we did not make it to you shoppe this time. sandi
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful!! The cardinals are amazing....wish we had them here!

I live in Iowa and we've been hit with the snow too but yours is beautiful! I love all the birdies coming for a visit! My dog loves the snow. He basicslly gallops out there and he is a Corgi. So short legs. Its pretty funny to watch!
ReplyDeleteMegan
I would not complain about the snow if I had cardinals in my yard. We have too many cats in our neighborhood, they don't feel too safe around here.:(
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! Nature at its best.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Sixpence, all my cats are on the "inside". With baited breath, they watch the birds through the glass.
ReplyDeleteMegan, I love Corgis...they are so smart! Would love to see one in the snow, their legs are so short! :)
Hey Laurieanna! I do wished I lived closer to your shop! I think you have the pretties things! Your snow is beautiful and I hope you stay safe and warm:)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post Laurieanna, I'm always inspired by your positive outlook on things.
ReplyDeleteWow, you got some amazing shots of the birds, wonderful photos!
ReplyDeleteThat bird bath is so pretty.....we hardly have any birds in our yard, - except CROWS! I'm envious!
ReplyDeleteBonjour Laurie Anna,

Lovely photos of those adorable cardinals. Planning to visit friends in Flower Mound next month and I can't wait to visit your shoppe.
ReplyDeleteAmen! Such a beautiful morning here in South Texas also. The simple things are the prettiest. Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteEven though Snow is a hassle, it is beautiful. thank you for sharing your pictures, Especially the birds and your sweet pooch.
ReplyDeleteMargo
I was born and raised in MD. I remember snow storms like this and can't say I miss them too much.. though I do LOVE looking at pictures of them.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!
Wonderful pictures! I was on the phone with my Mother this morning and we were complaining about being cooped up for so long. As I sat by my window and watched the big fluffy flakes fall, I called her back and said we should really take some time to just enjoy the beauty. You are right...thank you God...he is good.
ReplyDeleteDenis
I wish we had cardinals here in Washington - i love sitting on th patio & watching the birds come & go from the feeder. Those are really pretty! Thanks for sharing your post & stay warm! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThat's the spirit my sweet friend, Denis! We Texans don't get the opportunity to enjoy the snow very often, and it will be gone so quickly. I do feel for all the vendors at First Monday, but sweet March is one the way and will promise a doubly good crowd because of this! It's all good!
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty images! Thank you for sharing. Sweet pup and cardinals make it all even more beautiful. ~ Angela
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed very pretty.
ReplyDeleteSo very beautiful...glad your feathered and furry friends are enjoying it too :) Laurel@chippingwithcharm
ReplyDeletelove the photos....we enjoyed our snowed in day here in east texas.... unfortunately our bird feeders were empty, but fortunately our pantry & doggie feeder were not!! see you NEXT month!!
ReplyDeleteWe've had an abundance of cardinals flocking around our feeders here in Michigan, too. They are sooo pretty against the white snow!
ReplyDeleteEven though I'd much rather see them against the green grass.....
Oh well.....it was still a blessing! :)
xoxo laurie
we haven't had the snow you've had but when we do I LOVE seeing those cardnials...so great! And Zeek...well let's just say he's my FAv part of this post! The animals are such a grest part of life!

Wonderful pics of the snow art!! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHope your sale goes well. Wish I lived closer...I would definitely be there!
Hugs

The pictures are so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThe cardinals are so pretty ... I have the hardest time here trying to keep the ole black birds away from my feeders, they come in in droves and wipe out the feeders so fast. ughhh! Of course my daughter who loves all critters says "Well Mama they're hungry too". :)
Stay warm,
Tracy
Beautiful! Question for you though - with that kind of bird feeder, do you not have issues with the squirrels eating it all? Or don't you have a squirrel problem where you live? We can't seem to keep food in our feeders here without the squirrels eating it all!
ReplyDeleteStephanie, we have loads of squirrels. Maybe it's because the feeder sits right next to the kitchen window or because it's constantly occupied by the birds, but for some reason the squirrels do not bother it. They do however get into the one in the back yard.....they are clever lil rascals!
ReplyDeleteOh how I love that Zeek! All the birds are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWe are coming to see you tomorrow :) I hope you have something left in your shoppe! We've got to make it home for the Superbowl, think it's possible??
See you soon
Becky C
LaurieAnna, yes it is just beautiful, But enough is enough, I haven't seen a bird in days and I have three feeder. Stay warm
ReplyDeletePattie
Your pictures were wonderful. The snow is sooo beautiful and sooo quiet. Nobody can create like our God's own hand! Awesome.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by and the sweet message. I've been away from blogging and viewing blogs for quite awhile. Am going to try very hard to keep up.
Can't wait to get out your way and visit.

Whoa....Beautiful pictures...And Zeek looking very dapper in the snow :) It was yucky weather but I still made it to grab some of those fabulous buttons! By the way, adorable girl working behind the counter this weekend...she is very sweet!!
ReplyDeleteHi Sherri, so glad you made it out! Thank you for the compliment about our help, she's a doll!
