A Table for 5th Place

Our lil 5th Place cottage has the teeniest lil dining room, it's been a challenge to find a table for the space.
I've looked and looked, tried several shapes and sizes, nothing worked.
In the end, I determined that a 6 1/2 foot farmhouse style table, no wider than 32" would probably be best.
For months we searched.....no luck.
They were either too long or too wide, too tall or too short...
Where was my table?

And then..... we found this lil gem!

It had a nice base, but the top was too small and was in poor repair.

It was the perfect table, it just needed a little plastic surgery.

We gave it a plank top which gave it a great farmhouse feel.

And, the best part, we built the new top to match the exact dimensions for our lil cottage.

We finished it off with a couple coats of soft white paint.

It's perfect, I love it!

5th Place is smiling and I'm ready to decorate this room.

I feel a makover comin' on!

Now I must decide....chairs or benches for the table?
What do you think?

Or are you beautiful because I love you?"

  1. And a wonderful little table it is!!!

I vote a bench on one side and chairs on the other. I have that set up and it works great for me.

I love how it turned out.

  2. I ditto Rhonda's suggestion- mix it up, just like you have in the front room of the store ;-)

  3. First of all...I love the table. I, too, have a VERY SMALL dining room. I have a bench on one side and chairs on the other. I like the feel and the idea of mixing it up also.

  8. Your table looks great! I like the looks of a bench, but I would rather sit in a chair. I vote for one bench and some chairs too. sandi
