Mirrors and Plates

I've been squeezing in a little decorating between Shoppe duties over the past few days and wanted to share a little something.

There is this skinny little wall space between the window and the corner.
It needed something.
I tried hanging ironstone plates to give some texture,
but they were so close to the wall color that they disappeared.
I told hubster, too bad there's not a mirror behind them.  He laughed and said, "If there was a mirror behind them you couldn't hang them."

Hmmm.....wanna bet?

All of the plates already had d-rings affixed to the back from a former project.  Take that and add some fishing line and a single screw and VOILA'!

I adore old crazed ironstone plates.
But, really dig being able to see the plate backs reflected in the mirror.

Can you imagine doing this with a large collection over a very large mirror?

Hmmm......

  10. Hi Picket, D-rings are hangers. You can see how to add the hangers here:

Some of the craft stores also carry dischangers which I've been told work well too. Hope this helps!

  12. I love stuff hung over mirrors. In my bath, I've hung mirrors on top of mirrors. And I'm always hanging something in front of my large mirror in the living room over the fireplace. I like the layering and then teh sparkle underneath that the mirror provides.

I had not thought about plates on top though. I've done paintings...but not plates.

    Great idea!
