What the heck is it?

One of my favorite things about collecting antiques is the discovery of items that make you say, "Hmmmmmmm, what the heck is that?".

I purchased this wonderful, primitive item many years ago at an auction and was intrigued when I learned of its' purpose. Anyone know what it is? I'd love to hear your creative guesses!

Hi,
I just came upon your blog, and I love it.
My husband came home with the same thing you have in your photo. He was told it was used as a "jack" to change broken wagon wheels. I'm not sure I believe that or not, hehe. Curious as to other replies.
Hope that helps,
Teresa

Hi Teresa,

You are correct!! It is indeed a wagon jack, isn't that a hoot! Don't you just love antique utilitarian items? I find them so interesting.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope to see you again!
