Giant Dresses, Snow, and Surprises!

t
Looking for a floral print dress?  Try this one on for size!  This is one of the many creative displays we came across today.  It's a dressform that's been completely covered in dried flowers and stems - just fabulous!! Standing at least 8' tall at the entry of the showroom, it was a real eye-catcher!

Today's been a great day....very successful treasure hunting!  I can't wait for everything to start arriving!

On a side note, in all the years I’ve been attending Atlanta gift market, it’s never snowed.  It seems, as I’m just discovering, snow here is as rare as it is in our region of Texas.  But, last night, hubby and I returned to the room after dinner and this was the lovely view from the hotel window.   It's so pretty and peaceful.  Did they save the snow just for us?

Thank you for all the sweet birthday comments, you are so thoughtful!  The winner for the $25 gift certificate is Lucinda of Paperjunk - congrats!!  Email me at sales@laurieannas.com so I can get it out to you!

I'll leave you with one other thing that surprised me.  Outside of our hotel lobby is an atrium that leads into other buildings.  Upon first glance, I thought the pillar pictured in the far distance (photo above) was architectural.

It was only tonight that we discovered it is a trompe l'oeil hooked rug!  Has to be at least 30' tall - absolutely amazing!

Have a great weekend!

LauriAnna, your trip sounds so fun! Nothing like living vicariously through the blogland! LOL! That hooked rug is magnificent! I only dabble in hooking, but have several friends who are prolific hookers... they would be impressed with that one, too! It is gorgeous! Thank you for sharing your view! Keep having fun for the rest of us!!

Wow! That rug looked architectural to me, too in that photo from the distance! Very cool! Speaking of cool, so is that dried flower dress! What a lot of work! Looks like it was a showstopper!
