Our First Press - The Dallas Morning News

This past March, we celebrated our 5th year in business. During that time, we've never advertised, have never sought out press, we've just kept our head inside of our business and worked very hard. I’m certainly not well connected, I don’t know anyone in the publishing or PR arena, it’s just me and my crew doing what we love!  That's what makes the news I'm about to share so very sweet.

On August 27th, the day before our grand opening at the new location, my friend, Rebecca DeJohn, the creative force behind Heaven On Earth, called and asked if she could drop by for a few minutes to show off her new studio to a guest. A short time later, she and her guest dropped by in the midst of complete and total chaos as we were in the 11th hour getting things ready for our grand opening and Fall Preview Party that was less than 24 hours away!

Her guest? Mariana Greene, Home & Garden Columnist for the Dallas Morning News. Why? She was writing a story about Rebecca and her wonderful creations and wanted to see her new studio that is located in our Shoppe.

I unlocked the door to let them in, exchanged introductions, a few pleasantries, and then returned to the fire drill that was currently in full LOUD performance in the new Shoppe. A short time later, Rebecca found me and said that Mariana wanted to speak with me about the Shoppe. I assumed it was questions about the article and Rebecca’s studio, but that wasn't quite it.

It seemed that Mariana loved the Shoppe and wanted to write an article about it too! Are you smiling with me?  Everything…I mean absolutely everything, seems to happen this way for us. If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a hundred times, “we back into everything!”

We didn’t have to look for press, press walked right into the Shoppe in search of something else and there we were. Sweet serendipity!

It’s our first press.  Thank you Mariana for such a wonderful write-up!

Click here to go and check it out!  Isn't it exciting?!

P.S. Rebecca's article will be published in just a couple weeks.  And, we have another photo shoot just around the corner....more to come about this later!
