Yet Another Use For Old Books

One of our staff, was married over the weekend, and what a beautiful bride she was!

With very short notice and time, we handled all the decorations in the reception hall to create a vintage inspired wedding for her.  I tried to give the tables a personal feel by creating a series of books that told their story.  Many of the wedding guests were kind enough to share their love of this idea with me, I was very pleased with the result.

Old hardback books were painted white, then I pasted photos with a personal book title to the covers. The book spines reflected the title and wedding date.

There were 19 tables, all the books were different and tucked under a glass cloche which created a sweet and personal accent for the tablescapes.
Then birds, candle and votive holders, ferns and flowers, were added to create elegant yet simple vignettes.

I will share more photos as I get them.  Meanwhile...

Congratulations you two!  We love you both and wish you all the best!

What a wonderful idea!!! You did all that on short notice?? I don't think I'd come up with something as beautiful as that if I had a year to plan it. I might just borrow this idea for my daughter's wedding (some day).

Such a fantastic creative idea, love it! I've seen lots of things with photos at weddings, but never with books. And to showcase them like that, so beautiful and very unique! Can't wait to see more!
