Go Ahead, Fence Me In

The house with the white picket fence, we’ve heard it a thousand times.  I love picket fences, hubby and I have painstakingly built three by hand for previous home restorations.

A picket fence was part of the plan for sections of the backyard at the Farmhouse on Main™.

But....that's all changed now.

What changed it?

This….
Isn’t it spectacular?
120 year old solid cast iron fencing……75 feet of it!  Can you believe it?!  Fantastic chippy white with the perfect blend of rust.

This is what garden dreams are made of....at least for me anyway. :-)
It would be lovely incorporated into any yard, but something tells me it’s been waiting just for this 120 year old farmhouse.
We introduced them (the house and the fence) on Saturday and it was love at first sight.  Looks like we’ve got some post holes to dig. J
Oh me oh my, miles and miles of gardening projects paving the road ahead for this sweet lil place.  Lots of gardening posts heading your way!
Dear lil Farmhouse On Main,

A fence can also be simply aesthetic, used as a way to increase property values by making a visual statement.
