Now We're Cookin'!

Our crew can cook!  I mean it.  Literally.
They are great in the kitchen!

In fact, I am in awe of how many wonderful, aspiring chefs
we have on our LA crew!

Lunchtime at LaurieAnna's is always a delight and surprise,
as crew members take turns making and serving some of their favorite dishes.
And we want to spread the love---and the recipes---with you!

Starting today, we will feature a different recipe each month.
While they will vary in style, difficulty, and type,
the one thing you can bet the farm on is how delicious they all will be!

So from our tables to yours, we hope you will enjoy some of our favorite recipes
as much as we enjoy sharing them with you.
And please be sure to let us know what you think!

This month's recipe comes from Denis.  It is a favorite at holiday gatherings, and a favorite of Denis's because it does not require much cooking.  In fact, crisping some bacon in the microwave is the extent of the 'heavy' cooking---
the rest is easy as pie salad!

Broccoli Salad
4 cups broccoli pieces
1 red onion, chopped
8-10 slices crispy, cooked bacon
1 can cashew pieces
1 pkg. grated cheddar cheese
2 cups real mayonnaise
1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
1/3 cup sugar

Combine broccoli, onion, bacon, cashews and cheese.
Mix mayo, vinegar and sugar separately to create dressing.
Pour dressing over broccoli salad and serve.  Makes 6-8 servings.

Enjoy!

My broccoli salad recipe is just a tad different. I use sunflower seeds instead of the cashews and never thought of adding cheese. It is definitely a fantastic and yummy side dish that my family loves!! Look forward to seeing more recipes btw. ;)
