Let's Celebrate 5 with a Giveaway!

Oh how I love the number 5....have since I was a child.  It always seems to be blended into the details of the good things in my life. Little things like the sweetheart of my life being born in the 5th month, he was also the 5th child. We met in the 5th month of 95 and were married in 95.  I began this business in 2005.  So, 5 has been a good number for me!

And, it certainly wasn't an accident that our 5th restoration, the little Canton cottage, was affectionately named 5th Place.

This month we have an important "5" to celebrate.  The 5th anniversary for LaurieAnna’s Vintage Home is rapidly approaching!
I can still remember our first Canton show, back in 2005 with a single little booth in the Arbors. Back then it was just hubby and I, my how we've grown!  We kept enlarging our location in the Arbors and are still there today!  Then we added a second location in 2008....it's all just unfolded.

We've stuck with it, done our own thing, put in the hard work, and the years of dedication have paid off!  Thank you for shopping with us all these years.  None of this would have been possible without your support, we look forward to seeing you the next 5 years!

On another note of excitement - the hit counter on the blog has passed 200,000, and our follower count has passed 400!! I can hardly wrap my mind around that....and I sincerely thank you for following and reading!

There's so much to celebrate this month and so much for which to thank you!  So, why don't we celebrate with another giveaway, no ….let’s make it 5 giveaways! One giveaway for every year LaurieAnna's Vintage Home has been open!

I will feature the 5 giveaways over the next few weeks to thank you for supporting us!

So let's get to it!  For the 1st giveaway I can't help myself....I love this new arrival!  It's a tabletop dressfrom with a wood base and a canvas body with a Paris stamp.  I love it!

To get a chance to win, be a follower of the blog and leave a comment. That gets you one entry...if you post the button below on your blog and link back to this post you get two more entries for a total of 3 chances to win!

I will announce the winner for this giveaway on Monday, April 5th, and announce the 2nd Giveaway at that time!!  Thanks for always supporing us!

Vintage Inspired Wedding...

One of my favorite things about this business are the customers that have become friends!

Friends that visit and even share photos of how they have used our accessories in their homes and events.
All of the lovely photos in this post are just such a gift from one of our clients.
I'm astounded at the number of brides-to-be that shop with us for decorative accessories for their weddings, showers, and luncheons.
We've become a "go to" place for this niche and I love it!

It makes me smile to know that we've provided some inspiration and especially to see your finished projects!

A couple of months ago, Jennifer, one of our clients, graciously brought us these photos of her gorgeous wedding.
She and her lovely mother, Janet, had been buying items for her wedding throughout 2009 from us in preparation for her big day!
The event turned out beautifully and it made me smile to see how they used the vintage inspired items they purchased from us.

Jennifer also secured an awesome photographer, Jenny Martell.

I was thrilled to see their efforts! On a personal note, a week after Jennifer dropped these photos by the shoppe, a friend of mine attended a Bridal Show in Dallas as she was preparing for her own wedding.
While there at the Bridal show, she spoke with a photographer and indicated she was planning a vintage style wedding.

She was so surprised when the photographer flipped open the album of Jennifer's wedding with all of our accessories and the familiar photos! She was so excited she immediately called me from the show!

Everything is stunning!  Jennifer's wedding was beautiful indeed, but she and her mother are the real beauties, both inside and out!
I love the photo of Jennifer and her  bridal party....positively stunning! Isn't she a beautiful bride and what a dress!

To find out more about Jenny Martell's amazing photography, and see more of Jennifer's wedding photos, check out Jenny Martell's Photography!  She's incredibly talented!

Thanks Jennifer for taking time to share your amazing wedding tablescapes and photos with us!

This has inspired an idea for me.  Our clients have so much talent and creativity and I'd love to share it with you by highlighting some of them on the blog!

Scooching on the job.....

As I've been working this afternoon, I keep repeating a word given to me by Joan, one of my favorite customers (she's a hoot!). The word is "scooch"....meaning to scooch by something in tight quarters.

Let me tell ya, I'm doing a lot of scooching as I'm getting things ready! And, our customers will need to be skilled scoochers.....scooching by tables, scooching between cabinets, scooching around one another; lots of scooching!

Get the picture?.... IT'S FULL!! In fact, full is an understatement!!

Get ready to shop....and scooch!

Just 3 more days!!....

Just 8 more days!!

Today marked a special milestone as we watched the signs go up on the store...three of them! I snapped a quick pic with my phone.

I know it’s a lil goofy, but I got really excited about this! Even the 100 degree heat couldn’t burn the smile off my face!! Love it, love it, love it - had to share it with you!

Til then….

Just 9 More Days!!

Wow, I have been speeding through the creative zone for the past three days!! Perhaps it’s being here alone, or perhaps it’s the stimulation from all the new goodies!! Whatever the cause, my imagination has been hyperactive and is currently fixated on farm stuff. The display on the massive farmhouse table that will greet you as you step inside the store will better explain...I cannot wait to share it with you!!!

August 15th is almost here!!

P.S. Don't you just love this old barn wood photo?
