Think Green!

Aahh....nothing says Christmas like fresh greenery. I use it everywhere in our home.... the stairwell, the mantles, I tuck it into my artificial trees and existing floral arrangements.

There are many varieties you can use, Pine, Juniper, Holly, pretty much any Evergreen looks beautiful. Rosemary is one of my favorites, because of its' smell, but I am particularly partial to Cedar branches for several reasons.

First, it has a fresh smell, but it is not overly strong. Second, it seems to stay fresh longer, branches still look nice even after a month. Lastly, we have an abundance of Cedar trees on our Farm, so I can get as much as I like!

I thought I'd share one of my favorite holiday decorating tips. Use fresh greenery in your place settings by forming small wreaths. Begin by cutting small branches of greenery that are comparable in size.

Lay the branches in a row and wire them together. Green floral wire is best, but I have used silver so you can see it in the pics.

Once you have wired together enough greenery to form a wreath appropriately sized for your charger plate, wire the ends together and form your wreath.

Your guests will enjoy the fresh smell and the festive place setting! So, when it's time to prepare your Christmas table, don't reach for your wallet, reach for the garden pruners!
