Great Bones, Burlap & White, What a Combination!

Look at this fabulous chaise!  Definitely an early 1900s piece of wicker....heavy, well made, they just don't make 'em like this anymore.  Apparently it had seen a makeover sometime over the past couple of decades.

The fabric looked to be from the 80s and was in relatively good repair, but it had paint stains in several places.  And, the color....well....I think we can do better!

So, I gave it a "mini facelift" by reupholstering the back and front with burlap using upholstery tacs.

And since it will reside in a well used patio, I created a slip cover from a bed throw to cover the seat cushion.  I do love white, but it definitely has to be "wash and wear" white for us....we have pets!

For any of you considering white slipcovers or upholstery, you should read yesterday's post by Melissa at The Inspired Room, it has some great tips.

One of our custom pillows completed the project.  I love projects like this....easy and quick!  It only took a little over an hour to complete!  How 'bout them apples?..

Couldn't you just curl up and take a nap?...
