They All Need Families To Love

Many of you know that animal rescue is one of my passions.  So, I always keep a link on my sidebar highlighting specific animals available at local shelters for adoption.

You may remember Confetti, she had been on my sidebar since January.  But, no more.....she's been adopted by some lucky family!  This rescue merited a post....she's been waiting for so long!  Now, there is a new sweetie, Hera, sitting on my sidebar!  This sweetie pie can be found at the SPCA in McKinney.

Please remember to consider one of the loving pets from shelters and specific breed rescue programs, when choosing your next pet.  There are rescue groups for almost every breed, and most of the animals in those groups have been rescued from shelters.  Please help their efforts to save animals, it's the responsible thing to do.

We are planning to adopt another Golden Retriever and will do so from one of the many Golden Retriever Rescue programs, aren't we lucky to have such groups?

May God bless these programs and the volunteers that work with them!

Hi LaurieAnna!
You just made my day!!! I am so happy for Confetti!
Both my cats are rescues. My one is a pure breed doll face himalayan that was minutes from being put down and I took her home...( i didn't even ask my husband, we already had a dog and two cats) but I couldn't let it happen to her. She is the sweetest cat ever. I've found homes for a lot of stray cats and some dogs as well!
God Bless you for helping the animals!!!
Have a wonderful day

Kudos to you. I have had three canine rescues and two felines. Still have one of the dogs who is now 17 (got her when she was 2), yes, 17! Rescues are wonderful. The other two have passed away, but they gave me years of love and tremendous joy. One of them was 10 when I met him, and he had been in the shelter for a year, AND he had special needs. He only lived two more years after I adopted him, but he was a fantastic buddy, and I highly recommend adopting holder animals who need love and care in their final years. They are all just the BEST!!!!

Oh, that's wonderful that Confetti found her forever home.

We adopted both our Boxer babies from the NorCal Boxer Rescue. Actually we were fostering Kodak but when a family came to see him we couldn't let him go!

Sadly our Hannah girl went to Rainbow Ridge 5/22/09. She was with us for 9 years. Kodak's been with us now for 9 years.

If it weren't for the Boxer rescue I don't want to think about the sad fate that would have befallen Hannah or Kodak as they were both very ill when we adopted them, especially Kodak.

Hera sure looks like such a sweet dog! I hope she finds a home. And I am so thrilled that the cat found a home after all this time. How wonderful. Our cat was a stray and she has made the best pet. My niece adopted a dog from the shelter who had been starved. She took home a dog that was skin and bones and now has the sweetest friend ever!!!! Love & blessings from NC!

How wonderful. My two rescued cats are my kids (never was blessed with human children) and I know I love them just like a mother would. I, too, have a link on my blog for the cat rescue and hope to inpsire others to become feline parents.
Hugs N Herbal Blessings, Mandy
P.S. purring with happiness!

This post made me smile! Thank you for all your hard work in helping to find homes for these cute dogs and cats.

I love hearing about people who adopt pets. I have two rescue dogs. For the life of me I can't understand why anyone would buy a dog or cat from a pet store or breeder.

It breaks my heart when people don't get their dogs and cats fixed and they let them have more and more babies.

Hugs,
Joanne

I am so glad that kitty was adopted. That is super news!! I too had a rescue dog...a Great Dane. She was amazing and we miss her terribly. I haven't been able to bring myself to do it once again yet. But when I am ready, I will adopt a rescue!!!

Dear LaurieAnna,
I so agree! We enjoy the company of 4 rescued pets. We have 3 cats and 1 puppy and they are such joys in ours lives. Thank you for being a voice for God's creation. We also are the proud parents of an adopted child. He was born from our prayers and hearts. Our fur babies were our children before we adopted Grant. God has now blessed us with three more children. We have a full house with our children and adopted animals. What a gift God has given us!
Hugs to you and yours,
Rebecca

Both of my cats are rescues, too! They are the best ever and I hope more people will adopt cats or doggies that need homes.

LaurieAnna,
I would love to have the rescue link on my blog also. Could you please give me the info on that? I'd greatly appreciate it since I'm new to blog land and am a bit overwhelmed at this point. I have a lab retriever mix. We have an SPCA thrift shop up here in Anchorage. The proceeds go to feed and care for the animals. Since I'm painfully allergic to the kitties in the store it's a mad dash in and out. It's the first store of it's kind I've ever seen and a genius idea for the animals. :) Anywho, if you wouldn't mind, I'd really love a link.

Thank you so much and have a beautiful evening:)
Blessings,
Shanna
