The Hardest Part of this Business

Since I buy what I love, I always struggle with what to keep and what to take to the shoppe.  Anyone else have this problem, or is it just me?
This fantastic porch swing somehow found its' way to the patio at 5th instead of the Shoppe.  It has a cushioned spring seat instead of a wood seat, I've never seen one like it and couldn't help myself.  The black seat covering is nice, but I think burlap will be prettier!  :~)

I must have Spring and outside entertaining on the brain because the patio also recieved this antique hand-built windmill as a gift. Doesn't it look great with the Geraniums?  This area has a nice breeze so the blades are frequently turning....I love it!  It may make its way to the Shoppe someday....but not just yet!
My goodness, there was so much to be found in the fields at First Monday, I found all of this and lots more in less than an hour....even a vintage bicycle for Tina!

If you've never been, you owe it to yourself to go sometime!  It's one of the best places to treasure hunt!  If only it was as easy to part with the treasures!

Is it just me?....

Oh Please , don't get me started on trying to curb the buying bug. I want for nothing for my shop and yet there I was today buying a fantastic french side chair. I passed it by yesterday but it bothered me all day. Then I saw its twin in the Ballard Design catalog for $300. So back I went - Oh well:) You are in good company.

Hi LaurieAnna! I love the porch swing! I would want to keep it, too. Has all that chippy pain, just the way I like it! Have a great day! Smiles ~ Jo

Well, my sales have been down in my shop this month...probably because I have the same problem that you do! I have a VERY hard time choosing what to keep and what to put in my shop! I sometimes think that I should quit this business and just be a professional vintage shopper for myself : ) Glad to know I'm not the only one suffering from this illness LOL!

No, it's not just you! I am going to start selling in an antique booth next month, so I was out buying today. I want to keep the coffee table I got today, but I am going to deny myself and sell it. It's so fun to shop anyway!
Love the swing!

I know what you mean!! I used to have my own antique space and every time I went out shopping for merchandise, most of the stuff would end up in my home instead of the shop. And there are still a couple of pieces I could still kick myself for selling!
Oh well, I have some really great stuff though! {hee-hee}
Have a great weekend.
Sincerely,
Melinda

You are not the only one- I only buy what i Love as well-and also why my garage is full, i cant decide if i should keep it or let it go- I become so attached to my pieces i fix up or re-do- I only sell what i love- or what i would put in my own home- i think the swing is a keepr and burlap would be great.
Love it..

Love the swing! I also would have so much trouble deciding what goes and what stays - especially with all the great things you find. I'd end up with a house that was chock-a-block full with no room to walk or sit. I understand your dilemma!

Great swing! Burlap would probably be prettier or some of those vintage French Grainsack pillows might compliment the leather nicely. Depends on taste but either way it's a great piece!

Shopping is so relaxing and fun. I'm just starting my little business and it's very hard to decide what to buy, not buy, what has potential...:)

Happy Mothers Day!

love that swing... We have a bench my father-in-law built from an old car seat, so it has springs and is rally comfy. Lezlee

My home is loaded with stuff I "bought for the shop". I'll use it in my home for a while and then take it to the shop when I fall in love with something else. Thats a great perk of owning a shop!

I've never seen a porch swing with a seat like that. How authentic. I don't know how I'd part with things. Which is why I suppose I don't have a shop like you! I loved the white pitchers I bought from you so much, I added them to my banner today!
