Fireflies in a Jar

One of the biggest hits of the Fall Preview was the Mason Jar pendant lights that we created.  I've nicknamed them "Fireflies in a jar" because that's what they look like to me.  They were pretty spiffy on their own, but we jazzed them up even more by creating a "cord cover" of sorts from old industrial springs!  This made them very unique and completely our design.
Then, I took a few more jars and flipped them upside down as light covers on this large metal chandelier.  The result was a really cool blend of old and new.....it was definitely a hit!

I love the old aqua Ball mason jars, or as they are called by Ball, "Ball Blue".  Did you know that the Blue jars were preferred in canning because they blocked light from the food which made for better preservation and taste?  Nothing to do with the lights, but I thought it was an interesting bit of trivia.  I just like them for the pretty color!

I will probably be offline for the remainder of the week as I have a little business to take care of.....it's First Monday weekend!  And, if that's not exciting enough......it's supposed to cool down during this show....60s at night!!  How "cool" is that?

Come see us!  We'll be here Thursday - Sunday, and we have a brand new shoppe for you to browse and enjoy!!

Can you see me smiling from ear to ear?!

Love your lights and yes they do
remind me of when we used to catch
fireflys (lightn' bugs) as we called them. Yes I did know why they were blue only because I'm
old enough to have seen them being
used by my grandmother. She used to store her canned goods in the
out side storage house on shelves
in the dark. That way they preserved the food longer. Guess they didn't have 115 degree weather. I love the chandy with the
ball jars, soooo ca-ute!!! I can't
wait until next month so I can eyeball all of this wonderful decor. BEAUTIFUL!!!":o)
