We have a sweet lil' bird that dances and taps on our kitchen window everyday in the morning and the evening. He flies up and down the window with his chest pressed to the glass. He will do this for long periods of time as if he wants our attention, he's been doing it for many months. It's a phenomenon I've not ever witnessed before. We've affectionately named him, Fred, after tap dancing Fred Astaire.
I wondered last night if he would greet us today since we've been gone for 2 weeks. Bright and early this morning.....there he was. He looked at me as if to say, "Where have you been?"
Strange how the simplest things can bring so much happiness.
Thank you Fred.

Aw, he's so sweet. Birds make everything seem nicer, don't they?
Oh, I love this. I feel the same way about the 'girls' everyday & love returning home to be greeted by them. Love the picture of Fred ...
Have a beautiful & blessed Thanksgiving ~

Aww that is so sweet! I love it when little birds come and visit me. Its like a gift from God. Fred is precious.
I love those small gifts too! It's a reminder that God cares about our daily enjoyment and happiness. Home is the best, isn't it?
Oh what a sweet post Laurie... I can remember being with you one time in Corsicana, and you saw a little bird that was injured and you took it home until he mended, do you remember! I really enjoyed getting to see you guys this weekend, my ankle wasn't to happy though, it was hurting pretty good by the time we left. I just got thru doing a post about your booth at the Nutcracker!
hugs~~~ Daphne

Little things are the best thing about my day. Sweet post!
Oh how cute - birds are wonderful aren't they :)
Welcome home! Beautiful photos, can't wait to see more!
What a sweet post! We have a little squirrel in our back yard that always comes to the window when he hears someone in the kitchen. He just sits there for the longest time and watches us.
I hope you will drop by and enter my giveaway for a vintage necklace.
Hugs, Sherry
Just love this!
What a "tweet" connection with nature you have!
What a wonderful sharing! Love is kind, blameless, no complaints, patience, endurance etc.. Birds teach us to have this kind of love :-)
It is always nice to come home. And to be greeted so is a real blessing!!!

Oh he's so sweet! My sis in law used to have a feathered friend visitor who had a love/hate relationship with his refelction in her front window. Let's just say her window was NOT a pretty sight. So Funny!
What a cute post. I love birds and am an avid backyard bird watcher. They're like little gifts from God. I love the quote at the end of your post.
How true!

That bird really missed you, and even though you were gone the love stays there. He knew you would come back. What a cute bird, and I bet you are glad to be back home too.
How I love your shoppe and how I miss you! Hope you are doing well sweet friend :)
This is such a sweet post! It makes me smile!
Yes it's the simplist things that really make us happy....my life has slowed down from the fast pace of working FT, to unemployment and I'm actually happier now...I notice more about life, family, friends...nature. Just lovely.
