Remember Why

This weekend is promising beautiful weather in our Southern neck of the woods.  And, being a long Memorial Day weekend, I'm sure many of us will be partaking in bar-b-que, homemade ice-cream, and lots of good times with our family and friends.
As we spend time with our loved ones, I pray that each of us takes time to remember the amazing men and women that serve our country and the sacrifices made by them every day.

This is our handsome nephew Michael who is currently serving in Afghanistan,
I took this near Easter shortly before he was deployed.  We love you Michael!

And, as we are hugging our loved ones tight, may we remember the families that are aching to hug their husbands or wives, fathers or mothers, and sons or daughters, and what they wouldn't give to have the opportunity we have.  And, with that thought, may we hug a little tighter and a little longer.

To all of our troops, I say God bless each of you. Thank you for protecting this country that we love allowing us to feel a little safer as we lay our heads down each night.

And, to the family members of those who have gone on before us, with my whole heart I thank you for your sacrifice. May God bring comfort and peace to your hearts, and may you know that we stand with you.

My post from last Memorial Day shares a sweet memory about our military men and women, you can read it HERE.  I pray that each of us remember how fortunate we are to be Americans.

Have a safe and blessed Memorial Day my friends.

Enjoy your time, pass out lots of hugs, and most of all..
remember why.

I'd love to hear your Memorial Day thoughts.

xoxo

I couldn't have said it better. Thank you for your thoughts as we reflect on the true meaning of this Memorial Day Weekend. God Bless All the men and women that serve us unselfishly to protect our freedom! God be with those families who have lost loves ones to war and to those who dearly miss their deployed family or friend. Thanx for sharing.

This is beautiful. And your choice of music makes it complete. Do you mind sharing the manes/artist of the music you selected?
