A Step Closer

We've lived in bigger houses,
we've lived in smaller houses.
We've lived in older homes,
we've lived in newer homes.
But, we've never lived in a home that I've loved more.
This is it.  My spirit is at peace here.
I'm so in love with our little Farmhouse on Main.

Remember this post, where I shared that I wanted the inside to look like the outside?
After the results of this latest painting project, I feel as though we are a step closer to that goal.
Don't you love the simplicity of the lighter space?
I find myself smiling every time we open the front door. :-))

Get ready for lots and lots of blog posts that include all the details and decorating plans.

Let the decorating begin!

Your thoughts?...

What a transformation paint can make! It really looks so much brighter, warmer, fresher with the new paint job! Can't wait to see how you decorate! What a fun project - a true labor of love! Enjoy! Hugs, Leena

How beautiful! The lighter colors are SO much better...making the rooms look larger and more "now", without losing their historic identity.

Love it!

Good Morning LaurieAnna!

I know exactly what you mean about your spirit being at peace in THAT house. I felt that same thing when we walked into our farmhouse 6 yrs ago! We have worked practically non-stop since that time and still have a long way to go. But even with only one working electric outlet, sleeping (well actually little sleeping--LOL) on blankets in the middle of the floor, blowing dirt and other airborne particles from our nose, cooking on a hot plate, and living in a REmodel, I've never felt like I was born to be anywhere else.

This house tells me what it wants! No lie--you wouldn't believe the design changes that have been made because what I THOUGHT I wanted, wasn't right for the house. Weird--I know, but I'm sure you understand.

I sincerely hope that all your dreams come true in your Farmhouse on Main. Our REmodel has been slow-going due to budget issues, health issues, and just plain everyday life issues--but the plan is coming together and I just love it when that happens!

Thanks for sharing your home and your shop with us. I've stolen LOTS and LOTS of decorating ideas from you.

Happy Thanksgiving from my farmhouse in the beautiful Sweetwater Valley of East TN!!

Your home looks amazing LaurieAnna ~ such a huge transformation. Isn't it funny how a house can just give you a certain feeling and that's when you know it's really HOME!

I know it is going to be gorgeous when you are done....you've made such a great start. it's a lot of work to bring an old house back to life! but a labor of love, I'm sure.

It looks beautiful.

Like you, we've lived in bigger homes, and newer homes. Honestly, I think at about 2000 sq. ft. this is the smallest home that we've ever lived in.

Also, like you... we love our farmhouse on Main too!!
Even though the renovations will continue for sometime, it's where when I walk around the house, my heart smiles.

Our Cottage On Main will be our forever home. What a wonderful feeling it is :)
