Farmhouse Friday #6 - Farmhouse Style Accents

Once a month, my precious friend and clothing designer, Sharon Young, and I try to have a girl's day out.
When I showed up at her home this week, she surprised me with a housewarming gift for our Farmhouse.

Look at this fantastic antique wooden decoy.

Sharon collects these and said she'd never seen one with these colors. I haven't either.  She thought it would be perfect for our Farmhouse.  I couldn't agree more, although I know that she is the real gift!
I found the small vintage suitcase during our day out, it's the perfect companion for my beautiful gift. You will see this surface again during our makeover when it finds a perfectly appointed spot in the farmhouse.
Thank you Sharon, you're a wonderful friend!

Her gift had me thinking about the components that make up farmhouse style.

You know how much I love our vintage Farmhouse, but owning a vintage home is certainly not necessary to achieve the style of a farmhouse.  It doesn't matter if you live in a newly constructed brick home in the burbs, or an apartment in the city.

What does matter is what's on the inside.....that's true for everything, isn't it?

Farmhouse inspiration was abundant in last week's Farmhouse Friday gathering, as was loads and loads of talent!  Take a look at just a few of the highlights.
I was drooling over these boxes, especially the top one......"sweet chocolate". What a treasure!

And be still my heart, look at the horse heart frippery!  How many ways could you use these as accents?

Loved this, but you must, I mean must, visit her blog to see what she created using vintage farmhouse elements, it's amazing!  Good grief, the talent some of these ladies have!
Take a look at this mix of red transferware with bamboo flatware, such a beautiful blend of elements.  Visit Nancy's blog to see the complete tablescape, simple elegance at its finest!
Rene's post is jam packed full of vintage white inspiration, she has some of the best photos!

Simplicity is a perfect accent in farmhouse style. Laurie's post also has a mantle makeover using Annie Sloan paint.  See what I mean....talent talent talent!

Simple lace sheers and an open window.....absolute perfection.
I've never had the pleasure to meet Deborah in person, but her photos lead me to believe we are kindred cyber spirits. Always love to get a visit from her on my page!

Loved the jar of coffee beans and the mixing bowls in the background.  Brenda's blog is always packed full of farmhouse style inspiration and her writing is beautiful!  Brenda is helping me with something else....shhh....

Loved this amazing wreath that Sherry created....beautiful and timeless.  Farmhouse style perfection.
She also has a Home Sweet Home linky party.  How have I missed this in the past?

Loved this sign, it looks like the real thing.
Can you believe she painted it? More talent!

Debra was cutting up in a whole new way with her post on cutting boards.
Everything she does is beautiful, but this post was such great farmhouse decor inspiration.

Michele gives a wonderful tutorial for this farmhouse style sap bucket.
And to think that all this talent just a click away.

Visiting the links that you leave on Friday is such an inspiration, I wish I could feature them all!  But, it's not only the talent, it's the willingness to share it with others that is the real gift.

So, let's do it again.  Link up below and share your farmhouse inspiration.  I want this to be a completely relaxed, no rules sorta linky party, but I do have just a couple tiny requests.  Please link directly to your Farmhouse inspiration blog post, and please don't add links to a retail business website.  Please remember that these posts are dedicated to readers that are seeking posts that contain Farmhouse living inspiration.  :-)

Have a wonderful weekend my friends, I will soon be back with exciting news and a bedroom makeover!

I'm linking to Vintage Inpiration Friday and Home Sweet Home.
P.S.  There was some sort of technical issue shortly after this post with Internet Explorer, but thanks to a quick response from Inlinkz, everything seems to be working fine now.  Please try again now to link up.

Debra,

Get this, I can't link up on my own linky party! If it weren't so frustrating it would be hilarious! Good grief, have no idea what's going on with inlinkz or how to fix this. Will keep trying!

Just discovered your wonderful blog and am following. Grew up helping my grandparents on their farm and although I'm now a city dweller, the farmgirl has never left me. I'm blessed to live on an acreage in the city--complete with a garden, wild turkey flock, deer, racoon, woodchuck and fox. It has to suffice, as my hubby could never survive as a farmboy! I envy you.

I'm just now getting time (from packing) to sit down with the dogs and go over the farmhouse inspiration. Makes my whole Saturday night. (I'd be a real cheap date!)

Did you already post where the Farmhouse on Main is located? I am new to blogging, and I could have missed it. I just wondered if it is in Canton, or some other small town. Thought it might be fun to drive by and look at the porch during different seasons. If you aren't sharing the location, just let me know. It is a treasure!
